Maranta Green Vein

Marantas are happy in bright, indirect light though they can absolutely tolerate low light however, their leaf vibrance may dull a little if the light isn't quite enough. Avoid direct light as this could scorch the delicate leaves. In nature, these guys live in shadier spots amongst tall variegation so bright but dappled light is perfect.

It's time to water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry. Your plant will let you know it's thirsty as its leaves will droop. Avoid overwatering as this can cause root rot and yellowing leaves. 

Your Maranta prefers a humid environment. Mist daily to increase humidity levels and replicate the tropical environment it thrives in.

Average indoor temperatures of 18-26°C are best for a Maranta.

During spring and summer, feed once a month with a general houseplant food. No feeding is necessary during the winter when plant growth naturally slows.  

Marantas are non-toxic to humans and pets.

Nyctinasty, the natural phenomenon of folding its leaves at night, is an amazing thing to see. Don't be alarmed! These are called Prayer Plants and the leaves folding is where it gets that name from. Marantas are creeping plants so they won't push to grow vertically, instead they will grow low and along nearby surface.
