Tradescantia Tricolour

Bright light is needed to maintain the dark purple color. Some direct sun is fine, but keep your plant shaded from strong summer sun. If the leaves are growing green then it needs more light.

Water when the top few inches of soil feel dry to the touch, soak through and leave until dry again. Tradescantias do not like their leaves left wet, so be sure to dry them off or water the soil only.

The tradescantia isn't too fussy for a humid environment. Keep an eye on browning leaves as this will indicate dry air and a little more humidity is required but is unlikely.

Average indoor temperatures of 18-26°C are best for an tradescantias.

During spring and summer, feed once a month with a general houseplant food. No feeding is necessary during the winter when plant growth naturally slows.
